You must be able to act as a brand ambassador for two departments through social media, video, and much more! If you are the next Brand and Social Media Coordinator you will create content for Campus Recreation and the Career Center. You love promoting events, programs, and resources and exude creativity. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication activities, campaigns, and promotions for Campus Recreation and the Career Center. 

  • Run day-to-day marketing operations including but not limited to creating calendars and administrative duties.

  • Content creator and brand ambassador for two departments (Campus Recreation and the Career Center) through various forms of media (social and video) 

  • Craft creative communications for marketing materials, events, social media posts, and websites with the appropriate tone and voice geared toward specific target markets. 

  • Develop social media marketing campaigns regularly.

  • Manage daily interactions and provide quality customer services on social media and email.

  • Monitor ever-changing trends on social media platforms and identify opportunities for implementation.  

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy by tracking, measuring, and analyzing all initiatives.

  • Prepare, track, measure and analyze marketing initiatives and make recommendations to improve marketing campaign performance.

  • Assist with updating and maintaining department websites. 

  • Work directly with student programmers, full-time staff, and marketing staff to determine marketing needs and provide constant communication on projects. 

  • Advise staff to ensure that they understand and comply with marketing initiatives and best practices.

  • Assist with videos including creating concepts, writing scripts, and being on-screen talent.

  • Act as a creative director as needed during department-related video and photo shoots.

  • Work on additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Hands-on experience writing, editing, and making creative social media content (text and visuals) for a business or organization preferred but not required

  • Highly knowledgeable and a native user of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, and able to grasp future trends in digital technologies 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to write, proofread and edit copy with correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.

  • Working understanding of photography and being comfortable taking photos of people on an iPhone and/or camera. 

  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) is preferred but not required. 

  • Working understanding of Campus Recreation and Career Center preferred but not required. 

  • Able to function and thrive in an environment that has several projects going at any one time and be able to deliver quality work on tight deadlines and under pressure.

  • Strong intercultural fluency and ability to work within and support an inclusive work environment. 

  • A professional and positive attitude, results-driven with an ability to work independently. 

  • Strong skills in paying attention to detail, project management, organization, and analyzing information. 

  • Desire to learn and gain real-world marketing experience in a fun environment while producing professional-quality work.

Additional Information: 

  • Able to work 15–20 hours per week. Must be able to be in the office within the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position will occasionally be asked to cover events after hours

  • Starting Wage: $17.75 per hour

  • Work Location: on campus, Entrepreneurial Activities marketing office in the Student Affairs office in the Student Center.
