SL Senior Send Off

Two of our SL members, Jenö and Kylie, will be graduating in just a couple days! To celebrate, we asked them a variety of questions, such as asking them their FAV part of being a student, the hardest part of being a student, and at the end of the blog, they give their BEST piece of advice for other students. Let’s see what they said!

Kylie Quinley

Digital Content Creator and Photographer

What are your involvements on campus?

My involvements on campus include a Digital Content Creator at Seawolf Living, volunteering at art gallery events when needed, and creatively photographing students, events, and student life!

What has been your favorite part of college?

My favorite part of college would be trying different art mediums (darkroom, sculpture, printmaking, and 3D computer modeling) and learning which forms suit my style best! I’ve also made some great friends at Sonoma!!

What has been the hardest part of college?
It would probably have to be managing a healthy school and happiness balance, keeping school as a priority but also making sure I’m having fun too :)!

What are your post grad plans?

Besides my best friend and I moving in together after graduation, I will be continuing my creative photography business and growing in the industry! While I’d like to work on my own, I think working for another photography company and building connections and working on my brand on the side will help me when I choose to branch off on my own path.

What is your best study tip?

Find a nice, calm spot in nature on campus and really hone in on your studies in that pretty environment.

What is one piece of advice you have for other college students?

Take classes you’re interested in, in addition to the ones required or that can count for both as you’ll actually want to go to class. For me, art classes have always been my passion, so having at least two every semester keeps me happy and motivated! P.S. the photography classes, both digital and film, are the best!

Jenö Duran

Social Media Marketing and Video Coordinator

What are your involvements on campus?

Seawolf Living, Phi Delta Theta, Sports Marketing Club.

What has been your favorite part of college?

My favorite part about college has been joining my fraternity, creating lifelong bonds with so many people and enjoying so many different events. The two years that I have been in Phi Delt has given me so much, I've grown immensely as a person, and created so many relationships and memories.

What has been the hardest part of college?

The hardest part of college has probably been time management, balancing all the different responsibilities and commitments. Especially when it comes to prioritizing the important pressing matters even when you want to do something fun instead.

What are your post grad plans?

My plans post-grad are to pursue a Masters in Sports Management at the University of San Francisco, and hopefully work for the Golden State Warriors in the near future.

What is your best study tip?

My best study tip is not to over work yourself, sit down for thirty minutes to an hour of sustained studying then reward yourself with a break and repeat.  But be careful not to let the breaks become longer then the studying time!

What is one piece of advice you have for other college students?

My advice is to cherish the little things, your time in college flys by and you likely wont ever have another time in your life like it. Enjoy all the time with your friends and events, make lasting memories and relationships.

We wish you good luck on your future endeavors, you two! Congrats to the class of 2025!
